 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. SOKOTO GOVT CONFISCATES EQUIPMENT FROM PASSED GOVT OFFICIALS


Over twenty witnesses have appeared before the Sokoto state Commission of Inquiry to give account of what transpired during the passed administration in the state.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the hearing, the council to the commission, Barr. Amazi Amazi Friday said the commission was established to look into the alleged Mismanagement of Sokoto state government funds , assets and property during the passed administration of the state.

He noted that the commission was not setup to convict or witch-hunt the witnesses but to ascertain and make inquiries into certain irregularities and activities of some govt. officials during the Passed administration in the state.

Barr. Amazi Amazi explained that already, the commission had concluded it's inquiry on the first memorandum which bordered on the activities of the state Ministry for Local Governments last week while the present inquiry borders on the activities of the state Ministry for Agriculture.

He said three people among the invited witnesses who appeared before the commission have agreed to return three Tractors given to them as donation by the passed administration without due process.

According to Amazi Amazi, about thirty vehicles and tractors were given to people without due process.

Earlier, the chairman of the commission and former Gombe state chief justice and a senior advocate of Nig. Muazu Abdulkadir Bindiga salted the fifth of October for the continuation of the hearing after the council to some witnesses requested for an extension of time to enables the witnesses understand the content of the second memorandum before the next sitting.

Some of the witnesses include former Sokoto state governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former deputy governor Muhammad Mannir Dan iya among others
