 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. SANWO-OLU APPOINTS ANIMASHAUN AS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF LSACA


 The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Dr. Folakemi Basirat Animashaun as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lagos State Aids Control Agency (LSACA) with effect from October 30, 2023.

A statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro said the appointment is in recognition of Dr. Animashaun’s track record as a Medical Doctor, Technocrat and Public Servant with an impressive delivery of technical and practical medical services within the Lagos State Civil Service. 

According to him, "The State Government expects the new Chief Executive Officer to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence and selflessness in the discharge of her duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in her by Mr. Governor".  

Dr. Animashaun has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State. She later earned a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with merit at the University of Essex, United Kingdom. She was also awarded an MBA with distinction from the University of Chichester Top-up London Graduate School, United Kingdom, and a Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management at the Metropolitan School of Business Management, United Kingdom, with a series of Diploma Certificates from prestigious institutions.

Before her recent appointment as the CEO of LSACA, Dr. Animashaun was the Administrator of the Lagos State Emergency Command and Control Centre, where she coordinated the State's emergency and non-emergency services.
