 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker. IGP HONOURED AS FELLOW SOCIETY FOR PEACE STUDIES AND PRACTICE



The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., was today honoured with the title of Fellow by the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP). The investiture ceremony, which was held at Dennis Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, was attended by prominent figures and government officials, who celebrated IGP Egbetokun's remarkable contributions to maintaining peace and security in Nigeria. As a seasoned law enforcement officer, his leadership has been marked by a dedication to professionalism.


In his acceptance speech, IGP Egbetokun expressed gratitude for the honour and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address the multifaceted challenges facing the nation. The IGP further assured the society of Police's unalloyed partnership towards the capacity development of officers and men through continuous training and retraining. The ceremony served as a symbol of unity, bringing together scholars and experts in peace and security practice in support of a common goal – the promotion of peace and stability in Nigeria. 


IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., stands as an inspirational figure within the law enforcement community, embodying the spirit of hope for a safer and more secure Nigeria.
