Kaduna Pension Bureau Releases Over 1,000 Beneficiaries List

Kaduna State Pension Bureau has released the list of 1,051 Beneficiaries for the payment of gratuity and death benefits for State and local government retirees in both the Defined Benefit Scheme DBS and Contributory Pension Scheme.

The Executive Secretary of the Bureau, Professor Salamatu Idris Isa stated this at a news briefing in Kaduna.

Professor Salamatu who explained that, Sequel to the approval by Governor Uba Sani for the release of the sum of 3.1 billion Naira to the bureau for the payment, 873 of the beneficiaries are from both state and Local Government council retirees and families of deceased amounting to 2.6 billion Naira.

She said the State had scheduled the list of 331 beneficiaries amounting to 1.2 Billion naira while Local Government has 542 beneficiaries amounting to 1.4billion Naira.

According to her, the sum of 500million Naira was allocated to beneficiaries in the Contributory Pension Scheme CPS, with 178 beneficiaries of State and Local Government Council.

Professor Salamatu Idris Isa pointed out that all verification payment exercises will commence next week at various Headquarters of the 3 Senatorial zones of Kaduna State as part of processes of final payment of benefits to the beneficiaries.

She assured the beneficiaries that, the payment principles is about first in, first served, stressing that, delay in sighting names on the list for verification payment excercise did not amount to missing of file in the actual sense of it.

The Executive Secretary also disclosed that verification payment team from the bureau will move to the three senatorial zones of the State for the excercise.

Professor Isa emphasized that, no single file will go missing over gratuity or death benefits.

"People complaining about their names or files missing may not understand the workings here. We have been paying gratuity and benefits, and as I said earlier we have a principle of payment which is first in, first served.

"What it means is that when your file is being processed, when it comes to pension bureau, the date that your file is being processed is registered against your name. People say they are retired in 2015, but before, the file that is being processed is reading 2016 or 2017. So it is one thing for you to say you retired in 2015, and it is another thing for us to have gotten your file this period, so there is nothing like missing files.

"If we bring out list is based on first in, first served. Everybody's turn will come as we continue with the verification exercise. No file is missing in actual sense of it.

Professor Salamatu Isa stressed that the list for the payment will be posted on all social media handles, Pension Bureau premises, all Local Government Secretariats, Pension Union offices, and it will be sent to Pension Desk Officers (PDOs) in Local Government Offices.
