 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. … Receives Healthcare Equity, Access Award

Lagos State Government has been recognised for its unwavering dedication to Healthcare Equity and Access at the just concluded Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) Awards in Lagos.

The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) is a country-owned coalition led by the private sector, aiming to enhance health outcomes in Nigeria by combining private sector resources.

The award which is in recognition of the exceptional efforts and achievements dedicated to advancing healthcare and improving health outcomes in Nigeria was received on behalf of the State Government by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. (Mrs.) Monsurat Adeleke.  

Receiving the award, Adeleke said that it was gratifying that the Lagos State Government surpassed 6,000 nominees to clinch the prestigious award of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN).

According to her, the honour underscored the THEMES Plus Agenda's pursuit of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration to attain universal health coverage and enhance access to high-quality, efficient healthcare services for the State's growing population.

She dedicated the award to the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the entire health family in the State for the giant and relentless efforts in enhancing healthcare and health results in Lagos through unfettered access to qualitative healthcare without geographical, financial, cultural or political barriers.

It should be noted that the formation of the PSHAN Awards was a collaborative effort led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Bill Gates, Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate, Mr. Jim Ovia, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Mrs. Sola David-Borha, and other prominent business leaders who shared a common goal of addressing Nigeria's healthcare challenges.
