 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. NIGER GOVT GIVES REASONS FOR THE SUSPENSION OF MINING ACTIVITIES. 



Niger state government has given reasons for the suspension of mining activities in the state.


It is to ensure the safety of lives and properties of Nigerlites and miners in addition to promote and enhance the value of the business for economic prosperity of Niger state.


Commissioner of Mineral Resources Alh Garba Sabo Yahaya stated this at the third Nigerian Union of Mine Workers Niger state Council delegate conference held in Minna the state capital.


Alh Garba Sabo explained that it also served as  a proactive step to counter any negative consequences that may arise as well as to profile the actual number of miners operating in Niger state for planning expansion and execution of people friendly policies for the good of all.


According to him Niger state government is planning to establish buying centre in addition to doing it's best to see how the Solid Mineral Development Fund of Federal Government will render series of support to both miners and civil servants in the state.


In his remarks National President Nigeria Union of Mine Workers Comrade Hamza Muhammad called on members of the union to be more committed by way of remitting their dues to enable them discharge their duties deligently.


Comrade Hamza Muhammad who applauded the leadership style of members of the union in Niger state however called on various trade unions to put an end to problems of encroachment in to jurisdiction scope of other affiliates to avoid litigation.


Chairman Niger state Council Mines Association of Nigeria Comrade Musa Adamu Nasko called for the lifting of suspension of mining activities in the state while advising members to form cooperative groups to fight for their rights and enjoy government patronage.


Comrade Musa Adamu Nasko also assured members of his readiness to work towards improving their welfare to enable them function effectively and with relative ease.
