NGS SUSPENDS ALL TRANSACTION IN BEJI MARKET.


Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has approved the suspension of all economic activities conducted at the Beji market in Bosso local government area of the state.

This is with a view to allow peace to reign in that area for the development of Niger state and Nigeria.

Commissioner of Normadic and Pastoral Affairs Alhaji Umar Ahmed Rebe announced the suspension in a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria in Minna.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe explained that under the directive the market will be suspended for one week to allow them unravel the real cause of communal crisis that has erupted recently between the Fulani's and Gbagi's that have hitherto lived together peacefully for decades.

He however expressed sadness that during the incident four people have been killed and nine others were injured describing the situation as most unfortunate and sad.

The Niger state Commissioner of Normadic and Pastoral Affairs further said already they have met twice with all relevant stakeholders in Bosso local government area including traditional rulers politicians elderstatesmen and representatives of the two parties towards finding lasting solution and permanent peace in the area.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe however explaned that the state Governor Alh Mohammed Umar Bago is seriously disturbed and has directed them to do everything possible within their powers in ensuring that crisis of such nature never occur to fast track the development process and new Niger agenda of current administration.

Alh Umar Ahmed Rebe added that his Ministry and that of Home land Security are to meet soon in a bid to ensure that peace return to Beji and other troubled areas in Niger state while calling on parties involved to remain calm and desist from engaging in reprisal attacks.
