 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. NSCDC LAGOS STATE COMMAND RESTATES COMMITMENT TOWARDS ANTIVANDALISM OF OIL PIPELINES AND OTHER ASSETS AND INFRASTRUCTURE, PARTICIPATES IN OPERATION SECURED LINE TO PROTECT NNPC PIPELINES.


In a bid, to further restate its commitment towards fighting vandalism of oil pipelines and other critical national assets and infrastructure and end all forms, of economic sabotage in the country, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has once again demonstrated, its unwavering integrity, by its tangible and resourceful presence, aimed, at participating in the clearance operation, of the Armed Forces code named, "Operation Secured Line," which covers some corridors of Lagos and Ogun state, respectively. 

The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, MFR, fdc was ably, represented, by Assistant Commandant of Corps Abdullahi Jubril Musa, Head of Antivandal Unit, at the aforementioned, operation, which was flagged off, today, Friday, 10th November, 2023, by Rear Admiral Mustapha Bala Hassan, the Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command. Security Agencies and stakeholders present at the Flag off were the NSCDC, the Nigerian Army, Navy, Airforce, the Department of State Security, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Officials.
