 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Why I created AWAY Festival – Davido

Famous Afrobeat musician, Davido has disclosed why he created ‘Are We African Yet? (AWAY) Festival.

Davido, in a trending interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, stated that he created the festival to provide a platform for upcoming artistes.

“Why I want to do this is because when I was going out in America and I hear a song, I am like, ‘this is an African song.

“So I was excited and told my friends that this is a young guy that is coming up. I hit the young guy up that I was in the club last night and they played your song. He was like, no way!

“So I want to give those types of people the opportunity to come every year, at different times to perform.”
