 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Gov. Yusuf’s aide arrested for allegedly diverting palliatives

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Tasiu Al’amin-Roba, a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Abba Yusuf and one Abdulkadir Muhammad for alleged diversion of the state’s palliatives.
The Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview on Sunday that the suspects were arrested at a warehouse at Sharada with over 200 empty bags.
He said that the suspects were reportedly repackaging the rice and maize at the warehouse at Sharada.
“We have since commenced intensive investigation to find out how many bags of maize or rice were repackaged and sold,” he said.
Gumel said that the two suspects would be charged in court after the conclusion of discreet investigations.
