 LASG HOSTS Y2024 WOMEN'S ASSEMBLY TO EMPOWER, CELEBRATE WOMEN Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing and empowering women, describing them as the pillars of communities, contributing in numerous ways as mothers, entrepreneurs, educators and leaders.  Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this in his keynote address at the 2024 Women's Assembly for Local Government and Local Council Development Areas organised by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) at the De Blue Roof, LTV 8 complex, Agindigbi Ikeja.  The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Governor, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the Assembly as a critical platform for celebrating women’s contributions and tackling challenges affecting their well-being. I experienced wickedness from family members this year – Tricia Eseigbe

Nollywood actress Tricia Eseigbe Kerry has stated that she and her husband experienced wickedness from friends, family members and domestic workers this year.
The actress said this in an Instagram post while celebrating her wedding anniversary with her husband, Kingsley Kelly.
“A lot of wickedness has happened all through these past years from trusted family members to ungrateful staff we raised.
“The domestic helps that we gave space but wanted to occupy entire house to friends who we supported when there was nothing but showed their awful colours just when they saw tiny oil wells that they did not know was shallow.
“Today I give God almighty praise for bringing us this far and showing us so much love and mercy. Take all the glory Lord for all ur blessings and testimonies,” she wrote.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
