 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. Super Eagles squad for AFCON 2023 released


The 25-man Super Eagles squad to slug it out at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January 2024 has been released.


The 25-man squad list was released on Friday via the official social media handles of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Super Eagles.


The Super Eagles AFCON 2023 squad list has Stanley Nwabili of Chippa United, South Africa; Francis Uzoho of Omonia FC, Cyprus, and Olorunleke Ojo of Enyimba FC as goalkeepers.


In defending department are Olaoluwa Aina of Nottingham Forest, England; Chidozie Awaziem of Boavista FC, Portugal; Bright Osayi-Samuel of Fenerbahce FC, Turkey; William Troost-Ekong of PAOK Salonika, Greece, and Bruno Onyemaechi of Boavista FC, Portugal.


Other defenders in the squad list are Kenneth Omeruo of Kasimpasa FC, Turkey; Oluwasemilogo Ajayi of West Bromwich Albion, England; Calvin Bassey of Fulham FC, England, and Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto, Portugal.


The midfielders include Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City, England; Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge, Belgium; Joe Ayodele-Aribo of Southampton FC, England; Frank Onyeka of Brentford FC, England, and Alex Iwobi of Fulham FC, England.


The attacking line has Ahmed Musa of Sivasspor K, Turkey; Victor Osimhen of Napoli SC, Italy; Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City, England; Sadiq Umar of Real Sociedad, Spain, and Moses Simon of FC Nantes, France


Other forwards included in the list are Ademola Lookman of Atalanta FC, Italy; Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan, Italy, and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen, Germany.
