 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. We Will Not Disenfranchise Any J-Teach Staff - Governor Namadi


Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has assured the 4,500 temporary teachers, known as J-Teach, that the state government will not deprive any of them of employment but has insisted on an aptitude test.


He stated this while fielding questions from newsmen on the protest against aptitude test staged by the J- Teach staff. 


Governor Namadi noted that the recruitment of J-Teach to permanent teachers was designed to be done in phases and in the first phase, they aim to absorb 3,000.


" To ensure justice for all, instead  of making random selection, we organized this aptitude test for selecting the 3,000 out of the 4,500,  and those who did not scale through  will continue to work as J-Teach before next round of recruitment"


"This aptitude test is necessary to ensure only qualified candidates are recruited, and those who can't catch-up we have other plans for them including vocational training and empowerment "


Mallam Umar Namadi further explained  that, the new date for the aptitude test would be announced, but assuring that, no single candidate will be recruited outside J-Teach.
