 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. 2 Confirmed Dead In Ibadan Explosion

National Emergency Management, NEMA says rescue operations are on at Adeyi Estate, Bodija, Ibadan following Tuesday’s night explosion that rocked the area.

According to NEMA, the situation has been brought under control while operations continue to ensure smooth rescue of casualties.

Similarly, the Oyo State Government has appealed to residents to stay away from the site of the incident to enable emergency responders to continue at the site without interference.

Also, Governor Seyi Makinde on X revealed that over 77 victims were injured, while two lost their lives.

”Preliminary investigations by the security agencies revealed that illegal miners occupying one of the houses in Bodija had stored explosive devices there which caused the blast. The investigations are ongoing. All those found culpable for this will be brought to book” Governor noted.

‘‘We are grateful to the first responders, security personnel and all those who are at the scene to assist with the rescue operations as well as the medical personnel taking care of the injured. Please say a prayer for those who have been affected by this disaster as we continue with the rescue operations,” he said

Governor Makinde, who visited the scene of the explosion Tuesday night, said preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the explosion was caused by explosive devices stored by illegal miners.
