 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

CP NIGER ATTRIBUTES THE REDUCTION OF CRIME IN THE STATE TO THE ADOPTION OF POLICY THRUST OF IGP



Niger state Commissioner of Police  Mr Shawulu Danmamman has attributed the improved security in the state to the implementation of new policy to combat crime and criminality introduced by the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun .


Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Minna the police commissioner said the adoption of the new mission and vision of Inspector General of Police entails the respect for human rights, visibility and friendly policing.


Mr Shawulu Danmamman  said that is why they are strategizing and meeting with relevant stakeholders partnering with traditional  institutions and professional bodies to ensure that together they succeed in the area of peace and security which he said had brought about attitudinal change.


According to him the criminals knowing the resolve of Nigerlites are not finding it easy some are not comportable therefore are either going or are being arrested by security agencies and prosecuted.


This is because peace must be inforced and sustained in Niger state.


The Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Mr Shawulu Danmamman also applauded the commitment dedication and above all the political will of Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for having the passion and interested in the security of lives and properties of Nigerlites.


He however explained that the Governor has genuinely demonstrated that he wants to change the narrative by setting up a new Niger which he said required peaceful environment to thrive saying that his support to security agencies to discharge their duties is highly commendable.


Mr Shawulu Danmamman expressesd satisfaction that the security challenges with which Niger state is known for before now has changed drastically because people in the state especially those in Minna sleep with their two eyes closed and advised Nigerlites to always report security related problems to security agencies for prompt action.


Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state reminded them that security is everybody's business and that if you see something you should say something he added.
