FLORIDA NURSE CHARGED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AFTER SPREADING POISON ROUND FOR PETS TO EAT.(PHOTO)

A nurse in Florida is being charged after poisoning her neighbor's pregnant Chihuahua and cats.

51-year-old Tamesha Knighten is being charged with three counts of animal cruelty and one count of depositing poison in a public area. All three are felony charges and stem from an August 16th incident that was a culmination of a long time campaign of threats towards her neighbor's pets.

The neighbors alleged Knighten had repeatedly threatened to kill their pet cats (Luna and Pancake) and their Chihuahua (Daisy). On the day of August 16th Knighten seemed more agitated than usual. She had yelled at their children while they were in the yard playing. A little later, when one of the cats began acting strangely, Knighten interjected herself into the situation claiming the, "cat had eaten a frog."

However by the time the sun had set on August 16th a very pregnant Daisy (pregnant with 8 puppies) and both Luna and Pancake were dead. The cats died within hours of each other both choking and foaming at the mouth and in significant pain. During all of this drama the couple noticed Daisy was missing, only to find her deceased with her 8 puppies also deceased in utero.

During a subsequent investigation by Polk County Sheriff's Department a styrofoam container was found. Inside of the container was chicken meat laced with a highly concentrated amount of Phorate, a pesticide. The Sheriff's Office later uncovered video of Knighten wearing gloves and handling a similar bowl.

It's sad to see a nurse that has taken an oath to do no harm was capable of such an awful crime.
