 TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED TERRORIST COLLABORATORS, FAMILY OF ISWAP FINANCE CHIEF SURRENDERS, RECOVER LOGISTICS ITEMS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain pressure on  terrorists through series of intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the surrender of the family members of a senior ISWAP commander, and the recovery of terrorist logistics items. In one of the operations conducted on 27 July 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango. Items recovered from the suspects included one Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones of different brands, cow meat and the sum of ₦317,950.00. Fuad Laguda wins APC ticket in race to fill Gbajabiamila’s rep seat

Fuad Kayode-Laguda has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Surulere 1 seat in the House of Representatives, setting himself on course to succeed former Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila. 

The keenly contested election, held Saturday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, saw Laguda defeat other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket for the forthcoming by-election.

Gbajabiamila, who previously represented the Lagos constituency, relinquished the seat upon his appointment as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu in 2023.

Laguda will carry the APC banner in the February 3 by-election.
