 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. ILLINOIS STATE POLICE CONFIRMED A RESIDENT WAS SHOT BY A FARINA POLICE OFFICER. (PHOTO).

Illinois State Police have confirmed that a 37-year-old Brownstown resident was shot by a Farina police officer.

Yesterday, officials were called out to an attempted burglary at the 1600 block of North 1550th Street in Brownstown, Illinois. It is alleged the burglar set the house on fire. 

When police arrived on scene to the attempted burglary, they witnessed Tyler Roe steal a vehicle from the residence and then speed away from the scene. Fayette County Sheriff's Department pursued Mr. Roe after locating his vehicle. Farina Police Department assisted with the pursuit.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening as officers approached Tyler Roe in the vehicle, a Farina police officer fired his weapon and struck Tyler Roe. 

Mr. Roe suffered from a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital where he was later released and then booked into Fayette County jail. 

It is unclear why the Farina police officer discharged his weapon as he approached the vehicle but Illinois State Police are investigating the incident. 

No law enforcement were injured during the pursuit and arrest. I will update when I learn more. This could have been an accident or possibly the officer was responding to a threat. We will know soon enough.

The victim of the burglary in this story is a school teacher. There will be a fund set up for her at The First National Bank in Brownstown, Illinois. From my understanding, she is a wonderful woman that experienced a lot of loss during this crime. The fund will be ready on Tuesday at the bank.
