 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Jigawa Pension Completes Payment Of Over 292 Million Naira To Next Of Kin


Jigawa State and local government contributory pension scheme says it has completed the payment of over two hundred and ninety two million naira to relations of eighty six staff who died in active service in the state. 


The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in Dutse, the state capital. 


He explained that, the board had disbursed over two hundred and ninety two million nine hundred and sixty one thousand naira to next of kin of eighty six staff who died while on active service in the state. 


Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa, said the payment was categorized into four categories. 


According to him, 577 retired staff consist of those who retired either by reaching the mandatory retirement age of 35 years in service or sixty years by birth were paid over one point five billion naira. 


The Pension Boss further explained that,  thirty eight retirees who retired from service and started receiving monthly pension but died before reaching their minimum period of five years after retirement were also paid over twenty  three million eight hundred and thirty eight thousand naira. 


He expressed appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his care and magnanimity to Pensioners in the state. 


He added that the prompt payment of Pension and gratuity has helped to brighten up the heart of pensioners. 


In an interview with Radio Nigeria, some of the beneficiaries, commended the state government and the pension board for the gesture.


It could be recalled that, over one point eight Billion naira was disbursed as payment of terminal benefits to over 700 retired civil servants who exited from active service on attainment of thirty-five years in service.
