 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Kidnapped Nasarawa council boss regains freedom 

The chairman of Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state, Hon Safiyanu Isa Andaha and his political godfather Adamu Umar Custom who were kidnapped on New Year day have regained their freedom.
Though the terms of their release was not clearly stated

The council chairman and his political godfather have been re-united with their families.

Though the state police command had mobilise its personnel to trail the kidnappers and ensure the release of the council boss and his political ally.
