 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Kwara State COVID-19 Centre Gutted By Fire 

The COVID-19 Centre, located around the Kwara state Government -owned Sobi Specialist Hospital, Alagbado, Ilorin has been gutted by fire. 

Radio Nigeria gathered that the fire was caused by an unidentified person said to have set an undergrowth around the facility on fire. 

It was also learnt that the fire later spread to the COVID-19 Centre ward. 

The incident, which was confirmed by the state Fire Service, recorded no loss of lives nor injuries. 

The Kwara state Fire service , Head of Department (HOD) Media and Publicity , Hassan Adekunle, said the swift response by the Service prevented major damage at the COVID-19 Centre. 

In his remarks The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, advised residents of the state to prioritize safety. 

He also urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities, adding that they should desist from sending under-aged children to fetch water in domestic well.
