 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. MAN ARRESTED ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE OF AN X-RAY TECH AT ST. MARY'S HOSPITAL IN DECATUR, ILLINOIS. (PHOTO).

Man arrested for attempted rape of an x-ray tech at St. Mary's hospital in Decatur, Illinois. 


22-year-old, Victor Nunnery, has been denied pre-trial release in relation to a January 6th incident.


On that day in January, Nunnery was treated at St. Mary's in Decatur for shoulder pain. Nunnery came into contact with the victim when he was sent for x-rays.


According to the technologist when she was done with his x-ray she was cleaning the equipment with her back to him. Nunnery suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders and slammed her into a wall. She fell to the ground and the two began struggling, with Nunnery repeatedly trying to pull her pants down. 


Fortunately a staff member that was walking by, heard screams and the sound of the shuffle. She ran into the room. She witnessed that the victim was exposed from the waist down and Nunnery was laying over her with his pants down.


Due to the distraction, the victim was able to flee the room and security arrived. 


According to security reports Nunnery tried to claim it was consensual, but then later asked how long he would get for a rape charge. He later told the police he was aroused by her, "touching his shoulders."
