 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Two nabbed over alleged slitting of neighbour’s throat

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspects identified as Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju of Shao Garage area, Ilorin, for allegedly slitting the throat of a neighbour over a disagreement.

The incident occurred around past 12:00 am on Monday at Shao Garage area, Ilorin, in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

A source familiar with the matter told  newsmen that a brother of the victim, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, who was attracted by the shout of a resident, came out during the hour only to find his younger brother, Abubakar Babatunde, in the pool of his blood bleeding from his slit throat.

“He was subsequently rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention”, the source added.


When newsmen contacted the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident.

She said the incident was reported while two people were arrested over the incident.

“The needful will be done as soon as we have concluded our findings”, she said.
