 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. 34-YEAR-OLD MAN BITTEN BY HIS PET TO DEATH IN COLORADO. (PHOTO).

 34-year-old Colorado man sadly dies after being bitten by his pet Gila monster. The last reported lethal bite was in 1930. 


According to reports the unidentified man had 2 pet Gila monsters. He was bitten by a small juvenile on Feb. 12th and hospitalized. Unfortunately he passed away on Friday. The Jefferson County Colorado Coroner confirmed he passed away as a result of the bite from his pet.


Gila monsters are venomous and their bites are rarely lethal however they are very painful. The last case of someone passing away as a result of a Gila monster bite was in 1930.


Both Gila monsters have been confiscated and the venom will be extracted to try to figure out why it caused this fatality. Gila monsters are illegal to own without a license in Colorado. Officials say this is a reminder how dangerous it can be to possess poisonous animals.
