 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  44 ENVIRONMENTAL OFFENDERS SENTENCED TO COMMUNITY SERVICE



A Magistrate’s Environmental Special Offences Court of Lagos State District, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday and Thursday this week, imposed ₦25,000 and ₦15,000 fines respectively on 44 environmental offenders, with an option of community service, for engaging in indiscriminate waste disposal. The offenders carried out six hours and four  hours community service respectively, at Olusosun bus stop, Ojota and Ikoyi Magistrates’ Court premises.


Dropping your waste indiscriminately in the state is an offence punishable by law, defaulters will not be spared.
