 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. 6 Men land in prison for allegedly stealing N500m 'Malaika' film


Operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos have arrested six suspected thieves and charged them before a Lagos Magistrates Court for allegedly conniving to steal a film titled MALAIKA worth N500,000,000 belonging to the complainant Toyin Abraham.

Police identified the defendants as Iyanda Kehinde Oseni; Adekunle Segun; Adebiyi Sodiq; Agboola Motunrayo; Adebiyi Suliat and Oseni Akano.

The defendants were charged before the Igbosere Magistrate Court sitting at the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos Island, Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on stealing and an attempt to pervert Justice.

Police Counsel, Morufu Animashaun informed the court in the charge marked A/3/2024 that the defendants committed the offence in January 2024 at Apapa, Lagos.

Animashaun told the court that the defendants connived to unlawfully steal a film titled MALAIKA on the internet worth N500,000,000 belonging to the complainant, Toyin Abraham and in the process deprived the complainant of expected revenue that would have accrued to her from the stolen film.

He said the defendants attempted to pervert justice by concealing the HP Computers used for unlawfully disseminating the film titled MALAIKA on www.noregret.com.ng and www.naijajoy.com.ng.

Animashaun also told the court that the Fourth defendant, Agboola Moturayo January 2024 knew full well that one Oseni Sodiq Akano had committed an offence, and she constantly continued to communicate with him to evade arrest.

He said the offences the defendants committed were contrary to and punishable under sections 411,97,287, and 415 of the criminal law CH volume 3 law of Lagos State, 2015.

All the defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chief Magistrate, Mr Ogunkomi granted them N5m bail each with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case till 23 February 2024 for mention.

All the defendants were however ordered to be kept at the Ikoyi and Kirikiri correctional facilities in Lagos pending the perfection of the bail conditions.
