PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR SEEKS DEEPER SECURITY COLLABORATION WITH NAF In a bid to reinforce internal security and deepen intergovernmental collaboration, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, Abuja, where he met with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, DFS. The visit underscored the Governor’s commitment to leveraging strategic federal partnerships to address evolving security challenges in Plateau State and the wider North Central region, while conveying the goodwill of the government and people of the state and congratulating the CAS on his appointment as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff. 74-YEAR-OLD GRANDMA STABBED TO DEATH TRYING TO PROTECT HER 17-YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. (PHOTO)

 74-year-old grandma stabbed to death trying to protect her 17-year-old granddaughter.


Mary Catherine Bland was found suffering multiple stab wounds by Bel-Air police in her residence at around 3 p.m on Thursday. Bland's granddaughter had also suffered from a physical assault and was suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital where Bland unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.


Police investigating the incident quickly determined the suspect to be 24-year-old Angelo Spencer, he was arrested within an hour of the attack.


Police determined Spencer who had previously dated Bland's underage granddaughter had forced his way into the home. Records show he had purchased a pocket knife and glass cutter hours before the attack. He then tried to use the glass cutter to gain entry in the rear of the home. When that was unsuccessful, he forced his way into the home. Mary Bland began yelling as he pushed past her. At this point an altercation with the granddaughter began to take place, when Bland tried to intervene Spencer began stabbing her over 20 times. He also strangled the granddaughter and possibly sexually assaulted her as he has a r*** charge. However he denies this, but admits to everything else. 


Angello Terrell Spencer is being charged first-degree murder two counts of first-degree-assault and first-degree-r***.
