 ATANI, OSSOMALA/OKPANAM COMMUNITIES URGED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka has charged the Atani and Ossomala/OKpanam Communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State to take full ownership of the water supply projects in their Communities.


The commissioner while handing over of the finished water projects to the beneficiaries said that the contract was in line with the marching order by Gov. Soludo's administration in resuscitating the various water schemes across the state and were awarded to God's Favour Ideal Logistics and O. A Emma Enterprise Nigeria limited respectively on November, 2023.


The commissioner who was represented by the staff of Water Department of the ministry, Mr Okechukwu Onyedibe gave the charge during the official handover of the water projects to the two Communities, explaining the (PPCP) model of Soludo's administration where both the private sector, public, community and government will be actively involved in projects in their Communities.


He explained further that Gov. Soludo through the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, has started resuscitation of water facilities in different parts of the state by converting diesel - powered boreholes to solar powered boreholes, which Atani and Ossomala Communities were now benefiting from.


He charged them not to undermine the good intentions of government on the projects and to promote sustainability too.


In their separate speeches, the President General of Atani Community, Mr Arinze Nzeli and his Ossomala counterpart Engr. Henry Cole, thanked Gov. Soludo  for  water supply model in their communities and assured that the project would be honoured in all honesty.


On her own part, the Headmistress, Central School Atani, Mrs Francisca Olisa described water as the most necessity of life and thanked the state government for providing solar driven water supply in their school. She, then, promised to guide the project.


The two contractors who handled the two projects;  God's Favour Ideal Logistics and O. A Emma Enterprise Nigeria Limited, thanked the state government for finding them worthy to execute the projects and promised to make corrections were necessary.


Handing over the projects to the benefiting communities by the Ministry of Power and Water Resources and group photograph  formed the highpoint of the event.
