 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  Borno State: 100,000 Families To Benefit From Food Palliatives


The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved the distribution of food palliatives to over 100,000 vulnerable families to cushion the impact food inflation. 


Governor Zulum gave the approval during a meeting with traditional rulers, elders, community leaders and other stakeholders at Government House,  Maiduguri .


According to him, the beneficiaries would be selected from the twenty seven wards of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Area.


Zulum reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the welfare of Borno citizens, particularly to families struggling to access basic necessities of life, in the face of rising food prices and economic challenges.


                         “I have approved the distribution of palliative to 100,000 families in MMC and Jere Local Government Area to ease the hardship faced by our people in the wake of the rising cost of food and other essential goods,” Zulum said.


He announced that the distribution would commence in the coming days with Shehuri North, South, Feezan, Hausari, Gamboru and Mafoni wards.


Zulum assured that the distribution will be conducted in a transparent and accountable manner to ensure that the assistance reaches the targeted people. 


Similarly, Governor Babagana Zulum has also directed the distribution of the food palliative in seven Local Government Areas in the southern part of the state.


The local governments are Biu, Hawul, Shani, Kwaya Kusar, Askira-Uba, Chibok and Bayo.


He noted that his administration has consistently been distributing cash and food items in areas affected by Boko Haram insurgency to enhance their livelihood and ward-off vulnerable residents from joining the ranks of insurgents.
