No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

FLORIDA DEPUTIES USE A THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA TO LOCATE A 5-YEAR-OLD GIRK WHO WAS LOST IN A SWAMP. (PHOTO).

Florida deputies use a thermal imaging camera to locate a 5-year-old girl who was lost in a swamp.

Monday evening near Tampa, a five year old girl with special needs wandered into a swamp near her house and was reported missing.

Police quickly responded recognizing the seriousness of the situation. While using a thermal imaging camera they were able to capture images of the small girl wading through the water in the swamp.

The deputy in the helicopter was able to direct his counterparts on the ground. When she was approximately 80 ft from the child the deputy told them to call out her name. The deputy called out the child's name and held out his arms. The little girl responded by reaching out to the deputy who quickly scooped her up and walked her out of the swampy wooded area and back into the arms of her grateful family.

This was a wonderful piece of police work with a happy ending. A big shout out to Hillsborough County Sheriff's office for such a quick and successful response! Great work!
