Muslims Urged To Exercise Caution In Operating Joint Account, Property
Muslims have been urged to adhere strictly to Islamic Injunctions on sharing of inherited property to avoid inccuring the wrath of God.
The Chief Imam of the High Court Mosque, Imam Jamiu Hannafi-Gere made the call in his Juma'at sermon in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
He advised Muslims to exercise caution in operating joint account or property with their spouses to prevent crisis in the future.
According to him, Islam is explicit on issues regarding sharing of inherited property between husband, wives and children.
Imam Hannafi-Gere explained that the sharing of deceased property in Islam does not recognised the idea of acquiring joint property by family.
The cleric maintained that the property of deceased Muslim is expected to be shared among his wives and children based on Islamic rules without recourse to any member of the family's contribution.
He also warned Muslims against writing a frivolous will that is not in conformity with Islamic laws.
