 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  NNPCL: No increase in petrol prices


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has denied any imminent hike in the pump prices of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), petrol.

A statement by its chief communications officer, Olufemi Soneye issued in Abuja on Thursday, February 8, urged motorists to shun panic buying of the product.

The statement also assured customers of the abundant availability of the PMS.

The statement reads in part: “NNPCL assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

“NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS Price.

“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”
