 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  NNPCL: No increase in petrol prices


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has denied any imminent hike in the pump prices of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), petrol.

A statement by its chief communications officer, Olufemi Soneye issued in Abuja on Thursday, February 8, urged motorists to shun panic buying of the product.

The statement also assured customers of the abundant availability of the PMS.

The statement reads in part: “NNPCL assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

“NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS Price.

“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”
