NURTW HQ Wades Into Rift Between Lagos Bosses MC Oluomo & Seego

The National headquarters of the NURTW (National Union of Road Transport Workers) has waded into the rift between the Chairman of the Lagos state chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo, and Treasurer, Mustapha Adekunle also known as Seego.

Based on an agreement endorsed by the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, MC Oluomo was supposed to have stepped down for Seego to become Chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state – while he pursues his ambition to become the next National President of the transport union.

MC Oluomo, however, balked at the last moment and secured support from other stakeholders to hold to the Lagos state NURTW position until Seego helped him to secure the National President slot.

The development sparked the tension that resulted in the National Headquarters of the NURTW intervention on February 27, 2024.

As part of the measures to protect the peace, the meeting headed by the Chairman Board of Trustees Alhaji Najeem Yasin (Makama Gusau) affirmed the agreement between the two transport bosses that Seego would succeed MC Oluomo.

Insiders disclosed that pointers that indicate MC Oluomo would become the next President of the NURTW were also made.

It was also agreed that MC Oluomo would step down as the election for President gets closeby.

The recommendations at the meeting were made in the presence of MC Oluomo, Seego, and other executives of the Lagos state chapter of the NURTW.

Among the mediators at the NURTW National headquarters were Acting President Alhaji Issa Ore, Acting General Secretary Comrade Kayode S.A. Agbeyangi, National Chairman Heavy and Light Truck, Alhaji Haruna AlHassan (313), Deputy General Secretary, Comrade Uchehara Frank, Head of Departments (HODs).
