 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  Ozubulu Development Union Says Woman Who Attempted Selling Her Two Sons is not an Indigene.

OBINABO APPREHENDS 38 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FOR SELLING HER TWO SONS

The Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon Ify Obinabo has apprehended one Chinyere Chukwu, 38 years old, and her first daughter Joy Chukwu17 years old for selling her two sons. 


This was achieved when the Honorable Commissioner posed as a buyer after getting a hint of the transaction. 


Questioning the culprits at Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka, the 38 year old Chinyere stated that she, alongside her daughter, decided to sell off her two sons due to the economic hardship. 


Chinyere further explained that she had eleven kids and couldn't cater for them, hence her decision. 


On how much she told her buyer, the 38 year old suspect said that since they are boys that they were kept at the price of 1 million naira each but after serious bargaining by the Honourable Commissioner decided to sell them at 1 million, eight hundred thousand naira instead of the initial two million naira. 


The mother of 11 also revealed that she developed an interest in the business and decided to embark on such adventure after her neighbor successfully sold one of her kids, noting that this was her first attempt at the business. 


Chinyere Chukwu who hails from Ozubulu but resident at Okija said that she had only 2 kids for her husband and got the remaining 9 children after her husband's demise and ever since then hasn't been able to give them adequate care and support. 


The 17 year old daughter Joy of the 38 year old Chinyere, who is equally the eldest of the 11 children, added that the plan was to use the proceeds in advancing her tertiary education. 


The Women Affairs boss ordered that the  remaining children of the suspect be taken into state government's custody for proper care while the neighbor gets apprehended too. 


Obinabo further directed that after the neighbor has been arrested, contact tracing of the kid would follow in order to retrieve the child 


Hon. Obinabo, who was visibly sad over the incident, assured of the state government's resolve in eradicating crimes and warned that anyone found engaging in such an act would be handed over to the police and prosecuted.
