 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  Police Nab Fake Philanthropist, Recover Fraudulently Obtained Bags Of Rice In Enugu.


 In a swift response, Enugu State Police Operatives stationed at the Ogui Police Division have thwarted an attempt by Nnamani Joseph, 45, to defraud a local businessman of eighteen bags of rice valued at N400,000.


On Valentine’s Day, 14 February, 2024, Nnamani approached a church in Ogui, Enugu, under the guise of purchasing rice for charity for church. He contacted the businessman, requesting the rice, which was promptly supplied.


DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, made this known in a press release issued on Sunday and obtained by Rivers Mirror 


Accompanying Nnamani to the bank for payment, the businessman fell victim as Nnamani absconded after secretly transferring the rice back to the church.


Acting on the report, Police Operatives launched an intelligence-driven investigation, resulting in Nnamani’s arrest on 20 February, 2024, in Emene, Enugu.


Eight bags of rice were recovered from him, while the remainder had been resold at Oye Emene Market.


Nnamani and his accomplices await trial pending the conclusion of investigations.


The public, especially businesspersons, are urged to remain vigilant to avoid falling prey to such fraudulent schemes. Victims of similar scams involving Nnamani are encouraged to come forward with information to aid ongoing investigations.
