 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Saraki, Emir of Ilorin Condemn Killing of Kwara Monarch, Condoles with Koro Community


Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed shock over the killing of the Olukoro of Koro, in Ekiti local government area of Kwara State, Oba Peter Olusegun Aremu-Cole, and the kidnap of his family members. 


In a statement by Dr Saraki's Spokesman on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, condemned the act, describing it as dastardly, inhuman, and unpardonable.


He condoled with the traditional council of Koro, the royal family, and the people of Koro over the loss, praying God Almighty to grant them the fortitude to bear it.


Dr Saraki expressed concern over the worsening spate of insecurity in Kwara, charging the government to secure lives and property.


In his comment, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,  in a statement by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts towards the protection of lives and property in the state. 


He expressed the condolences of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council to the people of Koro community, in  Ekiti Local Government Area and the Government and people of Kwara State over the sad incidence.


He urged the State Government to ensure that necessary support are given to security agencies in order to curb the incessant crimes and criminality across the state.


The Emir also urged religious leaders across the state to embark on special prayers for the state for the restoration of peace and harmony which Kwara State is known for globally.
