 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Senegal talks 'propose extension' of Sall's term


An election stakeholders' meeting has proposed that Senegal's President Macky Sall continues to remain in office temporarily, even after his last scheduled day on April 2.


Political crisis talks called by Senegal's President Macky Sall on Tuesday advocated the head of state remain in office beyond the end of his term on April 2 until his successor is installed, six national forum participants told AFP.


The participants in the "national dialogue" said there was a "broad consensus" in favour of the move, despite the opposition of a number of political and civil society actors to such an extension.


On February 3, Sall announced he was indefinitely postponing the Senegalese presidential election scheduled for February 25.


His main reason for postponing the election was "unresolved disputes over who could run for president." At least 19 people have qualified as candidates.
