 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Support Tinubu To Overcome 8 Years Of 'Buhari’s Calamitous, Retrogressive Administration,' Northern CAN Tells Nigerians


The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has expressed its deep concern over the prevailing economic hardship and worsening security challenges across the country.


This is contained in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Elder Sunday Oibe and made available to journalists at the weekend.


The Northern CAN noted that the suffering in the country was becoming unbearable for ordinary Nigerians, adding that the high cost of foodstuffs, goods and services had made life difficult for many Nigerians.


The statement said, “The epileptic power supply has led to the collapse of many small businesses. The continued decline in the value of the Naira and the seeming inability of the government to address the situation has completely weakened the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians.
