 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. THE NEW AFRICA CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR MYCOTOXIN AND FOOD SAFETY FUT MINNA IS POISED TO REDUCE CASES OF CANCER  IN NIGERIA.


The Director Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety Federal University of Technology Minna Niger state Professor Hussaini Anthony Makun has expressed optimism that the commissioning of  the centre will helped to reduce current increase in cases of cancer and other diceases in Nigeria.


He stated this after the commissioning of the multi million naira edifice at the Gidan Kwano campus of FUT Minna.


Professor Hussaini Anthony explained that already masters and phd students from twelve African countries are currently on capacity building and research using the state of the earth equipments at the centre to prevent and control any poison from our food.


According to him mycotoxin are those harmful substances that causes cancer of the liver and kidney diseases which the centre is poised to removing all forms of antibiotics from our grains through the use of I C P E O S and PCR machines.


On the issue of African students coming to the university Professor Hussaini Anthony explained that the way media blows issue of insecurity scares students from other countries to come to the university and called for a change of attitude.


He said while the centre is partnering with Standard Organization of Nigeria,NAFDAC will also benefit from their researches for maximum benefit.


About one million naira was expended for the construction and equiping of Africa Center of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety by the Federal Government facilitated by World Bank under the facilitation of National Universities Commission NUC. 


The remodelled FUT gate which was executed through the support of the Vice Chancellor Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta was commissioned by representative of Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago the state Head of Service Alh Abubakar Salisu.
