 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  What my father told me before Grammys night – Davido


Grammy-nominated singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed what his father, Adedeji Adeleke, said to him before the commencement of the just concluded 66th Grammy Awards ceremony.

The 2024 Grammy Awards was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, 2024. 

Davido, who is a first time Grammy nominee, failed to secure any of the three categories he was nominated for, as all Nigerian nominees lost out.

However, speaking during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer said his father told him that he remains a legend regardless of the night’s outcome. 

He insisted that being nominated for the just concluded 66th edition of the Grammys Awards is enough to make him proud of himself.

He said: “Being nominated alone is enough to make me proud of myself. I just want my song to be heard on the radio once or twice in the beginning, but for it to transcend to this is just amazing and God’s doing.

“I was on the phone with my dad yesterday and he was like ‘Son no matter what happens, you are still a legend’. So yeah, he is a big fan.”
