 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  Anthony Joshua to face winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk


World Boxing Council President, Mauricio Sulaiman, has said the organisation would “accept” Anthony Joshua going on to face the winner of the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship.


Fury and Usyk go head-to-head on May 18 in Saudi Arabia for all the belts.


The two boxers are expected to fight again in a rematch expected to take place later in the year.


Joshua will be waiting for the winner, after recording a devastating second-round knockout victory over former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, last weekend.


“The WBC was presented a sanction request which was to fight for the undisputed. The WBC accepted that sanctioning and we accepted the rematch they have requested,” Sulaiman told Sky Sports.


“But, if it is not anything to do with contractual or promotion, we would absolutely accept the winner to fight Joshua.


“The WBC position right now is very open to support the undisputed champion taking on the fights that the fans want to see.”
