 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

 Lagos set to remove shanties built around Jakandle Estate and mayegun axis of Ajah Lagos.


The Lagos State government is set to remove shanties and all illegal structures erected around the jakande estate and Mayegun axis, Ajah Lagos.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on eGIS and Urban development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde disclosed this on Sunday during an inspection of the area.


He decried the level of distortion of the area with the erection of shanties and illegal structures defacing boundaries of Jakande estate and the adjoining roads,, setbacks and drainage alignments especially the planned Lagos to Calabar  coastal highway project.


He advised occupants  of the shanties and illegal structures to vacate immiediately as government  will not give further notice before removal of the structures.


He said "removal notices had been served severally on the occupants of these shanties but they have remained adamant. You can see that some of them have started removing the illegal structures themselves but I will implore those yet to comply to do so immiediately as removal of these illegal structures begins today"


On the inspection tour of the mayegun/ Jakande estate axis includes the Permanent Secretary, Office of Urban Development, Engr. Sodeinde Nurudeen, General Manager of the State Building Control Agency, Arc Gbolahan Owodunni Oki as well as security details and media representatives.
