 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. Patrol Team Beats Man To Death Over Alleged Violation Of Curfew Order In Nassarawa Eggon

A patrol team enforcing the 10pm to 6am curfew in Nassarawa Eggon have beaten a mentally-unstable resident to death over alleged violation. 


The incident according to reports occurred on Sunday night after the deceased, Gabriel Bafu, allegedly violated the curfew order imposed by the council authority months ago as part of measures to tackle the lingering insecurity in the Area. 


A family source who also confirmed the incident said the curfew-enforcing patrol team beat him to stupor and dumped him at the entrance of the family residence where he later died. 


The corpse of the deceased has since been deposited at the mortuary and matter reported to the security.
