 TRAGEDY ON ABINSI ROAD, 18 SEATER BUS DRIVER DIES IN A FATAL CRASH, POLICE LAUNCH IDENTIFICATION SEARCH 16th December, 2025  A fatal road accident has claimed the life of a Toyota 18-seater bus driver along the Wannune–Makurdi road. The crash occurred at Abinsi, where the driver reportedly died on the spot. The vehicle involved bears registration number XE 481 MKD. Authorities say the deceased had no means of identification at the time of the incident, making it difficult to notify his family. The police are appealing to members of the public with any useful information to assist in identifying the victim. Anyone with details is urged to contact the Officer-in-Charge, Abinsi Police Outstation, on 08038689030, or visit the police station in Abinsi. Police say timely information could help reunite the deceased with his family and ensure proper arrangements are made.

 Over Sixty Million Nigerians At Risk of Glaucoma – ODORBN


Optometrists and Dispensing Optician Registration Board of Nigeria, ODORBN, says over sixty million Nigerians are at risk of glaucoma disease in the country.


The Registrar of the Board, Dr. Obinna Awiaka made this known at a media briefing to commemorate this year’s Glaucoma week in Abuja.


According to Dr Awiaka, ‘’the World Glaucoma Week is a global initiative of the World Glaucoma Association aimed at raising awareness about the eye disease.


These include series of engagement with patients worldwide, eye-care providers, health professionals and the general public to contribute to sight preservation.


The Registrar said every black man is at the risk of glaucoma, and advised that the only way to tackle the disease was early detection through screening.


Dr. Awiaka described Glaucoma as the second leading cause of blindness worldwide after cataract.
