 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies. UCL: ENYEAMA NAMED AMONG FOUR RECORD- MAKING GOALKEEPERS. (PHOTO).

UCL: Enyeama named among four record-making goalkeepers


Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has been recognised by UEFA as one of the four goalkeepers to have scored a goal in the history of the Champions League.


According to a post on UEFA’s official website, Ivan Provedel, Sinan Bolat and Hans-Jorg Butt are the other goalkeepers who achieved the feat.


Enyeama joined the exclusive list when he converted from the spot in Israeli club, Hapoel Tel Aviv’s 3-1 defeat to Olympic Lyon of France on September 9, 2010.


The shot stopper later moved to Ligue 1 club, Lille where he also enjoyed a stellar career.


Butt converted three penalties for Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in the Champions League during his active days.


Bolat and Provedel, like Enyeama, scored one goal each from the spot.
