 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali.  EPL: ‘Unbelievable’ – Guardiola hails three Man City players after 0-0 draw with Arsenal


Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has hailed three of his players following their impressive display against Arsenal on Sunday.

Guardiola said the likes of Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji and Rodri were unbelievable against the Gunners.

Both teams got a point each at Etihad Stadium after the match ended in a barren draw.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola said as quoted by Man City’s website:

“Rico, Manu, Rodri were unbelievable. The second balls against Arsenal are really important.

“The chances they have in first half, they press really well. In the second half, I couldn’t expect more.”

He added: “I recognise the intention we had. We take the point and in nine games we see what happens. The only thing we can do is to refresh mind and legs and go into Aston Villa.”
