 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Gunmen Storm University Of Calabar Hostel, Kidnap Three Students


Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped three medical students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Cross River State, South-South Nigeria.


It was reported that the incident occurred on Thursday night.


The students were identified as Ojang Precious Ebejin, a 200-level student of the Department of Medicine and Surgery; Ugwu Chukwuemeka, a 300-level student of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, and Damilola Dickson, a final-year student of the same department.


Confirming the abduction, the spokesman for the Cross River State Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo, said the command along with other security agencies had launched a manhunt for criminals to ensure the rescue of the victims.


Ugbo said the students were abducted on Thursday night at one of the university's hostels inside the campus but did not provide further information.


According to the police spokesman, "the police are working in collaboration with other agencies to rescue the students."
