 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Manu Garba appointed Golden Eaglets coach


The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Friday announced the appointment of Manu Garba as head coach of the country’s U-17 side, Golden Eaglets.

Garba is making a return to the position having guided the Golden Eaglets to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013.

The former Nigeria international will immediately resume the role and take charge of the team’s preparations for the WAFU B U-17 Championship, taking place in Ghana.

The competition will take place next month.

The WAFU tourney will serve as qualifier for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The Golden Eaglets were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the last edition of the competition hosted by Algeria.
