No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

This exercise is a follow up to the move to clear the railway after the launch of the Red rail Line  project by Lagos State Government.

The operation which was led by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye covered areas like Fagba Rail Track, Iju-Ishaga, Abbatoir and Pen Cinema resulting in the confiscation of bikes that operated on restricted routes, State Highways and Bridges located in those areas.

During the course of the okada operations, the Lagos State Taskforce after a month of launching the Red Line Railway project by State Government cleared out shanties that have sprung up along Fagba Rail track and confiscated bikes that troop out from inner streets to operate along the tracks.

CSP Shola Jejeloye stated the criminality and hooliganism which is prevalent in these areas are enabled mainly by okada operators and squatters who turn to crime and rob innocent residents and train commuters. He disclosed that the confiscation of motorcycles would go a long way in reducing crime and incidents of bag snatching which most perpetrators make use of okada as a get away means.

The Chairman hinted that the fight against the menace of okada is on-going in every nook and cranny of the State and no stone will be left unturned till that fight is won.
