 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. UNILORIN kicks out 19 students for alleged exam practices, misconduct


University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled five students for alleged examination malpractices and hostel racketeering.

The institution also rusticated 14 others for alleged misconduct.

In a statement, UNILORIN Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, said the approval for the expulsion/rustication of the affected students by the Vice Chancellor, Wahab Egbewole (SAN), was sequel to the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 220th/221st meeting.

The statement said the affected students were penalised for offences ranging from misconduct to theft, examination malpractices, hostel bed-space racketeering and extortion, beating a fellow student, admission racketeering, extortion and assault.

It said the penalties for the offences committed by the students included rustication for either one semester or one academic session, including expulsion.

The affected students were in various academic levels such as 100, 200, 300 and 400.
